Silicon Valley Manufacturing Roundtable

It’s time for the first Manufacturing Roundtable of 2019! Please join us at Prospect Silicon Valley at 1608 Las Plumas Avenue in San Jose for an afternoon of food, networking and great content!

Please join us for the Winter 2019 Manufacturing Roundtable where we will tackle an issue many manufacturing companies in the Valley are focused on: Supply Chains. The event will include a panel of entrepreneurs representing the broad range of local manufacturing businesses, from machining to craft brewing.

Keynote Speaker: Gregory Theyel- Understanding Manufacturing Location Decision Making: Rationales for Retaining, Offshoring, Reshoring, and Hybrid Approaches

Gregory Theyel is the Director of the Biomedical Manufacturing Network and Professor at California State University. The Biomedical Manufacturing Network is a partnership of more than 1,000 biomedical companies in the San Francisco Bay Area that maintains databases and maps of biomedical companies and assists companies with the commercialization of technology. Gregory works with biomedical companies, assisting with manufacturing, technology, and business planning. He also recently published the 2018 article “Understanding Manufacturing Location Decision Making: Rationales for Retaining, Offshoring, Reshoring, and Hybrid Approaches” in the Economic Development Quarterly and the book Industry Emergence: Strategic Management and Synchronization for New Industries (Routledge Press, 2017). He has a doctorate from Clark University, has published more than 25 peer-reviewed academic articles, and has taught industrial engineering and management courses in Hong Kong, Singapore, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, Brazil, Russia, and the United States.

“Making it Local” Business Panel

Continuing the “Making it Local” Business panel from last summer’s Roundtable, this panel will feature a mix of manufacturing entrepreneurs and leaders from the region. Speakers include Peter Licht, Brewmaster of Hermitage Brewing Co; Jaime Nevarez, President of Nevarez Machining, Michelle Acosta of Acosta Sheet Metal Manufacturing and Joseph O’Neil from Green Circuits. Learn their stories and why these business leaders choose to make their unique products here in the Valley.

Food and refreshments will be provided.

Manufacture : San Jose, in conjunction with the City of San Jose, are grateful to bring together local manufacturing leaders to network, share ideas and address critical issues in the industry.
