Charlotte Truffles is a growing, award winning chocolate shop based in Santa Clara. I make chocolate bonbons by hand and sell them to our Bay Area friends at the farmers market, pop up events, and online. I started this brand because I couldn’t find a shop that truly shared my story. My childhood included living in several continents. From this experience, I fiercely understand the importance of diversity and inclusivity. This is why the flavors I choose represent the diverse culture represented in our community. Our flavors spark intercultural and intergenerational conversations where people can learn other cultures.

Our Sales Associate will work closely with Charlotte, founder and chocolatier. Because we offer unique flavor combination, we are seeking sales associate that’s adventurous in their food palate and able to offer a descriptive and vivid feedback to those who are unfamiliar with it.

I am looking for somebody who will provide outstanding customer service, educate the public in our flavor combination, and share how the flavors represent different cultures.

This individual also has superb interpersonal skills and detail oriented. The ideal candidate solves puzzles for fun and is thirsty for new challenges. You are creative in solving problems and are at ease with the on-the-fly changes.

In addition, this individual will support an established farmers market in Menlo Park, holiday shows, and other pop up events.

The individual will:
- Provide a mouth-watering description of the flavors for those who are not familiar with the flavor combination.
- Show enthusiasm about our products and attract customers
- Show respect and practice inclusivity and active listening to all our customers and vendors
- Be responsible and on time to set up and breakdown for our events/ shows.
- Assemble custom boxes at customer’s request and process payment.
- Provide an outstanding customer service at events.
- Deliver chocolates to our local customers.
- Assist in packaging and tracking inventory
- Collaborate with Charlotte on sales growth strategy.
- Remain calm and consistent during a busy event.

This position is a part time position starting at $20/hr. A possibility for growth within the company. Mileage reimbursement for local delivery and events.

We are looking for someone who ideally has:
- Retail experience with food brands
- An adventurous palate
- A love relationship with all types of food.
- Food handler’s permit

Basic Requirements:
- Can consistently commit to a minimum of 5 hours/ weekend for pop ups and markets. Hours will increase around the Holiday Season, Valentine’s Day, Easter/Passover, Mother’s Day, and as we pick up more pop up events.
- Additional hours for local delivery (w/in 10 miles of Santa Clara) in November and December.
- Detail oriented
- Reliable car for commuting to events, delivery, and transporting farmers markets setup (includes a 10x10 collapsible tent and tables).
- Can work in a fast and agile environment.
- Can stand for a long period of time.
- Must able to lift up to 50 lbs.

Extra Credit:
- Retail experience in food specialty industry
- Curious about food and food culture.
- Curious about the process of bonbon making process.
- Have taken chocolate making class, chocolate tempering class and/or bonbon making class.

starting at $20/hr  

Hours are mostly on the weekends for farmers markets and pop ups. As holiday approaches, there are pop up events in the evening during the weekday.
