GAMDAN Optics is a manufacturing startup focused on nonlinear optical crystals. We make crystals which enable high power lasers to generate light in the UV range. UV light is used in medical surgery, precision micromachining, semiconductor metrology and other critical applications. GAMDAN is looking for detail oriented and precision-minded individuals who enjoy hand work with small optical components, using measurement instruments.

- Understanding mechanical drawings and able to learn precision tools
- Hand beveling, grinding and polishing
- Handling small fragile optical crystals
- Cleaning and inspection of optical surfaces with a microscope
- Bonding and debonding crystals in precision configurations using wax
- Creating small tight fittings of optical components
- Measurement and calibration with micrometer, tools-maker microscope, inspection instruments
- Document process

- Good hand-eye coordination
- Attention to details a must
- Clean and organized
- Basic math, physics and chemistry background needed
- Able to work with precision measurement instruments
- Enjoying doing handy work, crafts, handling small things
- Team player with strong verbal communication skills
- Relevant optical fabrication experience preferred
- Bilingual in English, Mandarin or Cantonese preferred

While education and/or experience is preferred, we are very willing to train the right candidate.

- AS in manufacturing, production, mechanical training
- BS in Sciences or Engineering desired

Trial period 3-6 months, start with minimum wage
