What part will you play?
- GAF Energy is seeking a night shift Production Supervisor who will manage the production team and oversee material planning, product scheduling and production of the next generation of building integrated photovoltaic (BIPV) products
- You will report to the Director, Manufacturing Engineering, and work cross-functionally to support various types of equipment in R&D and Manufacturing. You will join a highly focused team that thrives in a start-up, fast-paced environment
- This person will be part of the team that is responsible for manufacturing and delivery of high quality, high-volume photovoltaic solar technology solutions that transform today’s roofs. The role will focus on execution/delivery, creative problem solving and collaborative work necessary to ramp products from laboratory scale to high volume manufacturing
What will you do?
- Instill a culture of safety, quality, and productivity through direct leadership and coordination of production team
- Hire and develop production associates. Provide feedback, training, evaluation and take disciplinary actions as necessary
- Create and maintain production schedules on a daily and weekly basis that maximizes production efficiency and meets customer demand
- Plan materials needed for production work orders and finished goods shipping to downstream distribution hubs
- Organize and plan production resources to meet production targets, including OT/weekend/Holidays as required
- Define daily tasks and setting focus for the production team
- Collect data and report on production performance indicators and metrics
- Collaborate with cross functional teams to resolve issues affecting production output in a timely manner. Escalate quickly as necessary
- Ensure production processes are carried in accordance with company and regulatory requirements
- Conduct reviews of the production processes to identify areas for improvement
- Maintain a safe and clean production environment
- Lead or participate in activities pertaining to workflow and process improvement
- Develop improvement initiatives by effective utilization of materials and resources
- Other duties as assigned
Job Requirements
- High school diploma or GED required. Associates or Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- A minimum of 3 years as a production supervisor or 5 years as a lead role in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environment
- Shift schedule: Night (10:30pm ~ 6:30am), willingness to work during shift overtime and weekends as necessary
- Proficiency with Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook. Knowledge of G Suite a plus
- Familiar with standard manufacturing/Lean concepts and practices
- Proficient communications skills: written, verbal, and listening
- Planning and organizational skills including ability to manage multiple priorities
- Planning the production schedule and making sure all necessary materials and equipment are available to the production team when needed
- Ability to quickly assess production issues and establish the best course of action
- Ability to spot problems within the manufacturing line quickly and take appropriate action to rectify
- Ensure that production team is working in the most time-efficient way and with the least downtime possible, to maintain production output while still maintaining staff safety and product quality
- Ability to clearly and concisely deliver instructions to the production team.
- Familiar with using Manufacturing Execution System (MES)
- Understanding of basic statistics and use within the operational environment a plus
- Experience in manufacturing expansions and ramp up a plus
- Strong attention to detail, process-oriented, and excellent time management
- Adhere to company policies and safety requirements
- Self-motivated, proactive, and efficient

Compensation
$90k - $100k, DOE
