ABOUT MFG:SJ: Manufacture : San Jose is an initiative of SFMade that launched in April of 2018, in partnership with the City of San Jose, with a mission to drive much needed knowledge, resources, and visibility to the city’s more than 1200 manufacturers and the more than 50,000 men and women they employ. In addition, MFG:SJ also connects job seekers and workforce development services to open positions among our manufacturing partners and, through our YouthMade program, MFG:SJ provides career exposure programs for under resourced youth in San Jose.

Job Duties
Position Summary: The Program Manager is dedicated to keeping a finger on the pulse of our companies by providing them with necessary technical assistance. He or she will implement, strengthen and scale a comprehensive and evolving suite of industry specific Advising and Educational tools and offerings. The primary goal of this position is to ensure that the appropriate type and level of support is provided to the companies MFG:SJ is engaged with so that they can scale profitably, and both sustain and create new jobs. The Program Manager will also support Manufacture : San Jose’s effort to highlight career pathways in manufacturing for adults and youth through our workforce and hiring programs.
Primary Responsibilities
Programs and Services Engagement
· Proactively reach out to engage companies in targeted programs and services
· Track and analyze member engagement
Direct Services
· Provide direct assistance in areas including, operational efficiency, finance and sales and marketing
· Assist manufacturing companies looking for new production or expansion space, including assistance with searches and attendant issues
· Conduct routine check-ins and “health check” surveys on a broad range of topics
· Cross refer to program team to meet the needs of companies and deploy specialized advisors as needed
Events Coordination
· Manage the Silicon Valley Manufacturing Roundtable events
· Help to craft workshop offerings
· Present program orientations and select workshops
Marketing and Outreach
· Assist in recruitment of new companies
· Recruit manufacturers to participate in YouthMade and Hiring Made Better programs
· Gather and report internal companies’ news and success stories both internally and to MFG:SJ’s social media team
Deliverables, Reporting and Metrics
· Create and monitor metrics to demonstrate program impact
· Manage program deliverables for grants and funding partners
Program and Resource Development
· Create and maintain relationships with select service providers including real estate advisors
· Utilize knowledge from the field to improve programs and services
· Help to build new program tools and resources

Job Requirements
· BA in business or related field
· 2+ years of operational experience in manufacturing or a related industry
· Small business ownership/operation and/or understands the needs of small business
· Experience with industrial real estate desirable
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Very at ease with technology/software, fast learner
· Excellent organizational and project management skills: attention to detail, problem solving, time management, accuracy, and ability to meet deadlines and objectives
· 2+ years of operational experience in manufacturing or a related industry
· Small business ownership/operation and/or understands the needs of small business
· Experience with industrial real estate desirable
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Hours
M-F, 9am-5pm
Location
This position can be remote up to 3 days/week, with 2 days/week working in the office in San Jose, and intermittent travel to San Francisco.
