Job Duties
Description
Coordinate and perform various quality and food safety evaluations. Verify quality checks to ensure the items under their responsibility are handled correctly. Assess manufacturing and equipment conditions to assure they meet specified requirements. Assist with various Quality Food Safety (QFS) programs, including the environmental and training programs. In their absence, the QFS Coordinator can cover their duties and responsibilities to Food Safety.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Conducts tests on WIPs and/or finished products.
- Assures materials are tested according to predefined criteria and meet requirements.
- Evaluates flavor, texture, odor and appearance of items manufactured under their responsibility.
- Identifies differences from expectations/standards.
- Monitors physical values on equipment and confirms appropriate conditions for operation during use.
- Inspects and evaluates packaging.
- Immediately reports out-of-spec materials and operating conditions to the QA and Manufacturing Supervisors.
- Assists with solutions to problems encountered with products and procedures, including root cause analysis
- Places WIPs, finished product and materials on hold if they do not meet requirements.
- Conducts plant audits for adherence to GMPs.
- Assists with training of various plant staff.
- Coordinates the collection and shipping of samples for outside analysis.
- Executes environmental monitoring program ( assigns locations, inputs results, conducts samples etc)
- Maintains records (foreign material, holds, QA check sheets etc.)
- Backup to Technicians as needed and during absences.
- Coordinates the retain program
- Other duties as assigned.

Compensation
$21 to $25 per hour, based on experience
