Summary:
This position supports the manufacturing function by monitoring the assembled weights of the Frozen Department lines to ensure they meet the weight target and the quality standards. Tasks vary from product to product but primarily focus on activities outlined in our weight compliance procedures.
The Weight technician will take weights every hour, record weights, calculate averages and apply corrective actions following the corresponding work instruction. They will also perform visual inspection of the units for proper distribution of the topping and/or ingredients.
They will report to the Line Performance Technicians and the People and Performance Supervisor any assembled weight trend that drifts from target, remove the non-compliant units and ensure compliance to the weight control requirements. This position will be responsible for completing and maintaining all associated records and will assist in CAPA activities as needed.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Follow the work instructions for weight checks, completing a minimum of 50 weight checks per hour, recording the individual weight and calculate the average.
- Ensure compliance with Amy’s internal requirements, the E-Mark rules and the NIST requirements.
- Follow work instruction and procedures by removing any non-compliant product.
- Communicate quality issues to the leads and trainers and escalating to members of the management team issues as appropriate
- Stop the line if quality issues arise that are too numerous to mitigate in real time during assembly activities
- Lead the weight control activities of multiple lines, or one line, as assigned by the supervisor.
- Comply with the rules and regulations set forth in Amy's Kitchen Inc. handbook for employees, the safety manual and GMP booklet
- Take proper precautions and use all equipment safely
- Wear personal protective equipment as assigned.
- Notify the Line lead or Supervisor of any quality, safety, or mechanical problems
- Maintain a clean work area and perform housekeeping procedures as needed
- Perform other duties as assigned
- Train other co-workers as needed.
- May be required to work overtime during peak season or based on company needs.
